Biella hosted the 39th congress of the World Federation of Master Tailors from 31 July to 5 August, an event which saw the arrival of over 270 tailors representing 34 nations. The Italian school has always been considered one of the most influential and admired, thanks to our DNA of craftsmanship, entrepreneurial ability and taste. The phrase 'made in Italy' originates from 'made to measure' and then moves on to other related sectors such as fashion.
The event was animated by debates, parades, competitions: on 3 August within the parade of the National Academy of Tailors, the Golden Scissors Award is awarded, the most important tailoring competition born in 1951 and established by Mino Maestrelli to reward the master tailors who best interpreted the tailor's profession due to their technical competence, stylistic sensitivity and manual skills.
