Spazio Cultura _ Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio Biella _ March 15 / April 15, 2018
Exhibition curated by the winner students of Bona Hack prize.
As We Are: an imperfect but full of beauty world.
On show two artists from Biella, the photo portraits by Damiano Andreotti and the sculptures "Maschere della Vita" and "Bimbo" by Daniele Basso.
"Masks surround us. We all use them. They are the foundation of social life. But it depends on how we use them: how much conscience and what purpose. With masks we can deceive, hurt and delude. But also protect ourselves or amplify our identity. Their are powerful tools in our hands. The degree of consciousness of who we are, where are we going, of our desires makes, it establishes a more or less ethical use, both individual and collective.
Art instead unmasks ... It helps us to understand who we are in a different way from reason alone. It evades rationality and takes us further, through emotions. Where the word can not reach. In front of the Art and the Beauty the masks fall and we return children who look at the world with curiosity, joy and amazement. Beyond the fear ...
This is a process that leads us to grow, towards new degrees of awareness of our identity ".
