An initiative also aimed at sharing Daniele's recent membership in the circle,” says Giorgio Durando, president of the Circolo, ”We imagined with pleasure and curiosity that his sculptures could make us dwell, through hyperbole and visual and emotional shocks, on the meaning of Christmas today. A beautiful opportunity and collaboration to reconfirm the Circolo Sociale Biellese, the oldest and most prestigious club in the city, as a place for dialogue and confrontation, starting precisely from cultural experiences, on contemporaneity, life and the future of our territory and the world.”

It is a dialogue that passes above all through the personal interpretation of the works by all frequenters of the Circle, who are greeted on the ground floor, at the entrance, by “Kryste,” an author's proof of the work of the same name exhibited in 2011 at the 54th International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia. It is the metaphor of an outsized crystal, light made matter, which becomes the conduit to an intimate and spiritual dimension, accessed through the mirror at the back. Confirming that everything is within us. One only has to take note of it and commit oneself to seeking it. While on the upper floor, before accessing the rooms, we find “Trottola,” a hand-polished mirror steel sculpture made in 2024, representing the search for balance through movement. Therefore, not static, but dynamic, to find balance in the continuous change of life, to live free from fear all the challenges of tomorrow.

A setting in two moments,” explains Daniele Basso, ”at the entrance, where one is normally alone or with family, before going up to the company, the intimate moment in search of the spiritual dimension of Christmas; while upstairs, having entered the room with people, we move on to the celebration of the public, collective and playful dimension of the Holidays with friends. But with an added note of depth: here the spinning top from play becomes a life experience, and speaks to us of achieving balance only through movement. Today that Biella is setting itself in motion in different ways, sometimes disorganized from each other, but increasingly concrete, innovative and consistent...Trottola is my personal wish for a renewed collective identity and consciousness toward a better future.”

An initiative,” concludes Roberto Vineis, vice-president of the Circle and the first supporter of the idea, ”that consolidates the board's intention to open the Circle to new generations, with esteemed and quality members, enthusiasts and lovers of the territory, who in the dialogue at the Circle can establish relationships, exchange ideas and share projects for a Biellese that is renewed straddling past and future. By reawakening that sense of community that originated the Circle, and that today is more strategic than ever in the process of imagining, planning and communicating a territory.”
