Christmas and New Year 2024/2025 will be celebrated with art at the Skyscraper of the Piedmont Region with the exhibition “Riflessi Biellesi” by Daniele Basso.
An initiative in which the artist's works will tell the story of the Biellese in a symbolic journey in stages, not exhaustive, but strong in some of the most distinctive features of an area rich in excellence and ready to be discovered nationally and internationally.
“The exhibition is an opportunity to make known a heritage of culture, tradition and entrepreneurship. Hosting it during the Holy Christmas season means keeping alive the feeling of traditions and rediscovering the deep meaning of our roots. Daniele Basso's works depict the relationship with Christian values, but also the ability to produce, innovate and create the know-how of excellence. These events are essential not only to promote art, but also to stimulate pride in local communities and strengthen the principles of our identity,” says Piedmont Region Vice President and Councillor for Labor and Education Elena Chiorino.
“An extraordinary opportunity to tell the story of the Biellese through a work that has lasted for years,” continues Daniele Basso. ”I thank not only Elena Chiorino for the invitation, but all her staff and the Heritage Office of Regione Piemonte that made it possible. And above all, I thank the various actors in the area who over time have commissioned me to create part of the works on display today, allowing me to investigate meanings and values of the Biellese and freely interpret them into symbols capable of bringing them into a universal dimension, in which we can all recognize ourselves.”
“Riflessi Biellesi is a highly symbolic installation,” the artist emphasizes, ”which, starting from topical themes such as spirituality and family, mountains and hospitality, craftsmanship and entrepreneurship of excellence, sustainability and future planning, tells the story of a territory through contemporary art and its symbols. A story steeped in the identity values of Italian culture... Christianity, ethics, morals, conscience, work, know-how... to reflect also on the constructive character of the Biellese, and more generally of Piedmont. Territories with a wellness-oriented design spirit, which between “Spirituality” and “Knowing How to Do Well,” express their aptitude for excellence. At a time of rapid global evolution, the display is a testimony to the ability to revive itself in the wake of its past, but with firm values and an eye to the future.”
In the exhibition, united by a narrative through symbols, we find the works:
